Tata Group’s aviation company Air India has canceled flights to Israel till October 18. Earlier the company had announced the cancellation of flights till October 14 i.e. till today in view of the ongoing war in Israel. Now the company has decided to increase it.

Earlier flights were canceled till 14th October

According to news agency PTI, an Air India official has decided to cancel all flights going to and from Tel Aviv till October 18, 2023. Before that, Air India had canceled its five weekly flights to Tel Aviv till October 14. Now, with no end in sight to the war, the company has taken it further.

The war has reached its eighth day

Hamas attacked Israel early Saturday morning last week. More than 1000 people have died in the Hamas attack, including many civilians including women, children and elderly people. After the Hamas attack, Israel declared war. Due to this, tension is at its peak in West Asia. At present there is no sign of the war ending.

5 scheduled flights of Air India

Domestic airline Air India operates five weekly flights between Tel Aviv and New Delhi. These flights are on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Now these flights are going to remain canceled till 18th October. However, the company has said that it will operate chartered flights as per the need to bring back Indians from Israel.

Indian Government’s Operation Ajay

The Indian government has started Operation Ajay to bring back Indians stranded in Israel. Under this operation, Air India has operated 2 flights so far. Under this operation, 212 Indians were safely evacuated from Israel in the first flight. In the second flight, 235 Indians were brought back from Israel. In this way, till now about 450 Indian citizens have been evacuated from Israel.
