The DGCA has said that no equipment or part can be installed in the aircraft, which is not according to the prescribed design and standards. The DGCA said that these modus operandi of airlines not only cause inconvenience to the passengers, but it is also a serious security lapse.

Many passengers who travel by air complain that the seat provided to them by the airlines company was not in good condition. Taking cognizance of such complaints, now the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has warned all airlines not to book passengers on unusable seats during domestic and international flights. The aviation regulator also said that non-compliance of guidelines in this regard will be taken seriously.

It is worth noting

that only last week, the DGCA had audited the seats and other things in the cabin in the planes. In this audit, DGCA found broken seats inside the planes. Apart from this, passengers have been continuously complaining about the bad or dirty seats in the aircraft in the past.

Complaints are coming continuously, complaints

of bad seats in planes have been coming for a long time. On May 24, Air India flight running between Delhi-London was delayed by 3 hours because a passenger was given a bad seat. Only last month, the DGCA had ordered Air India to repair the interiors of its planes. This order was given after the photo of the dilapidated interior of Air India aircraft went viral on social media.

A passenger had taken this photo of the bad interior of Air India’s Airbus A320 aircraft. The broken arms of the seats are clearly visible in these photos. In April 2022 itself, the DGCA had also stopped a Spijet aircraft from flying due to complaints of dirty seats and damaged cabin panels.
