BJP member and former Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Dasgupta has complained that no one can buy soft drinks on IndiGo flights. In response, an IndiGo spokesperson said on Tuesday that the airline has improved its services to provide an efficient, sustainable and affordable snack experience.
“This initiative is in line with our commitment to Go Green as our change saved thousands of cans from spoilage,” the spokesperson said in a statement. The spokesperson said that they have stopped providing items like cold drinks in cans. However, the airline did not tell when it stopped providing cans in flights. In such a situation, this sudden change was made by the flight.
According to the airline, its customers can enjoy a complimentary beverage along with any snacks purchased during air travel.
How is the updated menu?
The statement said, ‘Earlier, our menu included cashew nuts (Rs 200) and a Coke (Rs 100), the total charge of which was Rs 300. Our updated menu now offers any snack pair and a glass of juice or coke for Rs 200 (beverage is free).
