Ford Motors layoffs: Auto sector company Ford Motors is preparing for a new round of layoffs. This time the salary employees in the company America can be fired. According to the report of Walt Street General, thousands of employees may lose their jobs. In March last year, the company announced plans to reduce structure costs by up to $3 billion in its gas-powered vehicle unit.
In August, Ford said it would cut a total of 3,000 salary and contract jobs, according to a Reuters report. Most of the employees will be laid off in North America and India. This retrenchment will be done from many departments. Ford did not immediately respond to a request from Reuters.
Employees will be removed from these divisions
The WSJ report said the new round of layoffs could be for employees in the Detroit automaker’s gas, electric-vehicle and software divisions. However, no clear information has been revealed regarding how many employees will be fired.
Why the decision to lay off was taken
In order to run its business properly, it has prepared for retrenchment. The automaker’s move comes after its peers Stellantis NV (STLAM.MI) and General Motors (GM.N) said they were offering employee buyouts. This is not the first company which is going to lay off. Even before this, employees have been fired from many companies.
