Free Aadhaar Updation– To correct any incorrect information in the Aadhaar card, you will also have to upload the document. To update name online, a scanned copy of ID proof will be required.

New Delhi. If your name, date of birth, address or any other information is wrong in your Aadhar card, then you can correct it in the next ten days without paying a single penny. You will not even have to go anywhere for this. You can update your Aadhaar online from the comfort of your home.

You will have to pay a fee to update Aadhaar after 10th i.e. after 14th September. Keeping in view the convenience of the people, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made the update in Aadhar card free for some time. You will still have to pay money if you go to the Aadhaar center to do this work.

UIDAI has provided the facility to update Aadhaar documents for free on myAadhaar portal under the Digital India Initiative. Aadhaar card can be revalidated by entering ID proof and proof of address (PoI/PoA) on the portal.

You can update some things in your Aadhaar online (Aadhaar Online Update), while for some you have to provide offline documents. You can update name, gender, date of birth, address and language online. For online updation, it is necessary for your mobile number to be linked with Aadhaar.

to correct any wrong information in the Aadhaar card, you will also have to upload the document. A scanned copy of the ID proof will be required to update the name online. Similarly, to correct the date of birth, a scanned copy of the birth certificate will be required. No document will have to be given for gender change. You can also update the language through online SSUP portal and mobile app. Currently Aadhaar is available in 13 languages.

Update like this

  • Visit the self-service update portal of UIDAI. https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/
  • Click on ‘Login’ and enter your unique 12 digit Aadhaar number and the given captcha code. Then click on ‘Send OTP’ and enter the OTP sent on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
  • Now select ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ under the Services tab.
  • Now click on ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’ and select the details you want to change.
  • Your existing name in Aadhaar card will appear on your screen. You can make whatever changes you want by uploading the document.
  • Confirm the changes made. Your information will be updated.
