Now every family will be given three free LPG cylinders in a year. This announcement has been made by the Government of Goa for the people of the state. This announcement will give relief to the people suffering from inflation.
As the BJP government in Goa has won the election with absolute majority and once again Pramod Sawant has been made the Chief Minister of Goa. Let us inform that in the election manifesto issued for Goa, the BJP government had announced to give free LPG cylinders to the people of the state thrice a year.
Since now there is a BJP government in the state. Therefore, to fulfill his election promise, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has decided to give three gas cylinders free of cost to every family in the state in a year.
Big decision taken in first meeting itself
According to media reports, a major decision was taken in the first meeting held after the swearing-in of Pramod Sawant. Under this decision, the Goa government has said that three LPG cylinders will be given free of cost to every family in the state. The government says that the BJP had made this promise in its election manifesto, which it has fulfilled.
Similar announcement has been made in UP also
In UP also, the Bharatiya Janata Party in its election announcement had announced to give free cylinders to every family of the state on the festival. Under this announcement, every family of UP will be given free cylinders twice a year on Holi and Deepawali. A proposal has been sent to the government for this.
There are about 1.65 crore beneficiaries under the Ujjwala scheme in UP. By giving free cylinders, the burden of about 3 thousand crores is estimated to come on the UP government. It is being told that now on every Holi and Diwali, every family of the state will be given a free LPG cylinder i.e. free LPG cylinder will be given to every family twice a year by the state government.
Central government also gives free gas cylinderÂ
Let us inform that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the facility of free gas cylinders is being provided to the people of the country by the central government. Under this scheme, the government provides the facility of free gas cylinders to the poor and needy families. The government believes that smoke from traditional fuels such as firewood, coal, cow dung, etc. harms the health of rural women as well as the environment. Therefore cooking gas should be used for cooking even in rural areas.

- You can apply online for the application of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. For this you have to first go to its official website pmujjwalayojana.com .
- Here you will get the application form in Ujjwala Yojana which has to be downloaded.
- After this, the information asked in this form like- your name, date of birth, income information etc. will have to be filled. This form has to be submitted to the LPG center to fill all these information. After verifying the form, you will be given the benefit of free gas connection.
Documents required for application in Ujjwala Yojana
- You have to apply to get free cylinder under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. For this you will need some documents which are as follows-
- Aadhar card of the applicant
- Mobile number of the applicant which is linked with Aadhaar
- Passport size photograph of the applicant
- Bank account details of the person applying, copy of bank passbook for this
- Name of the applicant in the ration card
- BPL card of the applicant
How many people got the benefit of Ujjwala scheme till now
Ujjwala Yojana was launched on 1st May 2016. The first phase of this scheme has been completed and at present its second phase i.e. Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 is going on. Under this scheme, the government provides connections for domestic cooking gas, called LPG, to the families living below the poverty line. Under this scheme, free gas connections are given by the Government of India to the APL, BPL and ration card holder women of the country. Till now 9 crore people have got free gas connection under this scheme. Indian Oil has given this information on its Twitter handle.
Special Features of PM Ujjwala Yojana (PM Ujjwala Yojana)
- PM Ujjwala Yojana is only for those families who come below poverty line.
- Each beneficiary of PM Ujjwala scheme is to be given one free cylinder in a month.
- On lifting the delivery of the first gas cylinder, the amount of the second installment will be given to the consumer’s account. After that the third installment will be given. There should be a gap of 15 days between two refills.
- The families who are eligible for the scheme will be given Rs 1600. The amount will be transferred to the account of the household of the women. EMI service is also provided under this scheme.
- Only three LPG cylinders of 14.2 kg each will be given under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
- PMUY scheme is currently active and covers 715 districts of the country.
