The Indian government, earlier this year, increased the Goods and Service Tax or the GST on mobile phones in the country from 12% to 18%. This had led to the surge in the smartphone prices in the country starting April this year. Companies such as Xiaomi, Realme, and Oppo among others had hiked the prices of their smartphones in India to offset the GST hike.

However, over the span of the past couple of months, several smartphone makers have reduced the prices of their top smartphones in the country.


So, here are the top smartphones that received a price cut recently:

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

Samsung had launched the Galaxy Z Flip smartphone in India at a price of ₹1,15,999. Earlier this year, the phone got a price cut of ₹7,000. It is now available for ₹1,08,999 in India.

iQoo 3


The iQoo 3 was launched in India at a starting price of ₹38,990 with the top model costing ₹46,990. Then earlier this year, the company slashed the price of the smartphone by ₹4,000. It is now available at a starting price of ₹34,990 with the top model costing ₹44,990.

Vivo V19

The Vivo V19 was launched in India at a starting price of ₹27,990 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and ₹31,990 for the 256GB variant. Earlier this year, the 128GB variant of the phone received a price cut of ₹3,000, while the 256GB variant of the phone got a price cut of ₹4,000. Post the price cut, the 128GB variant of the Vivo V19 is available for ₹24,990 and the 256GB variant is available for ₹27,990.


Oppo Reno 3

The Oppo Reno 3 was launched in India at a price of ₹29,990 for the 128GB variant and ₹32,990 for the 256GB variant. Earlier this year, the company slashed the price of the phone, post which the 128GB variant of the phone costed ₹27,990, while the 256GB variant costed ₹29,990.

Samsung Galaxy A51


Samsung Galaxy A51 was launched in India at a price of ₹23,999 for the 6GB RAM variant. However, the company hiked the prices of the phone in April, post which it costed ₹25,290 in India. The phone received a price cut of ₹1,251 last month, which brought back the price of the phone to ₹23,999.
