Go First Flights: Go First, an airline company facing cash crunch, has suffered another setback. GoFirst has now announced that it is canceling all flights till Tuesday, which means that no GoFirst flight will operate till May 9. Along with this, the passengers affected by the cancellation of the flight will also have to make a full refund. At the same time, Go First has also stopped its ticket booking. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has said that GoFirst has stopped booking tickets till May 15.

Ticket booking

DGCA says that now the airline is considering refunding the ticket booking money or allowing the existing ticket to be used for future travel. Please tell that GoFirst was earlier known as GoAir. This airline company has recently announced bankruptcy, after which suddenly the company has stopped its operations. Due to which many passengers are also facing trouble at various airports across the country.

Money will be refunded

GoFirst, the airline stuck in the crisis, has announced to stop booking tickets till May 15. Apart from this, the airline is considering refunding the ticket money to passengers or allowing them to be used for future travel. In fact, after the airline’s decision to suspend its flights for three days from May 3, the DGCA had issued a show cause notice to GoFirst. The regulator said in a statement, “GoFirst has informed to stop booking tickets for its flights till May 15.” The airline has said that it will either refund the ticket money to the passengers or allow them to board the flight at a future date.

Inconvenience to passengers

Following GoFirst’s reply, the DGCA has directed the airline to refund the ticket money within the stipulated time frame under the existing regulations. The regulator said that it is its endeavor to minimize the inconvenience caused to passengers due to sudden stoppage of operations through GoFirst. GoFirst separately said it has canceled its flights till May 9 due to operational issues. The airline said in a notice posted on its website that we are very sorry to inform that flights are being canceled till May 9, 2023. Soon the passengers will be fully paid for their tickets.

The country’s third largest airline blamed Pratt & Whitney’s faulty engines for the downfall amid fierce competition in the sector led by its biggest rival IndiGo and Tata group-owned Air India. It is used by the company in the Airbus 320 Neo aircraft.

Flights canceled

The airline said in a statement that it had to cancel flights due to “unforeseen operational issues” and is offering full refunds or rebooking options to passengers. But many passengers complained that they were not informed of the cancellation and had to pay exorbitant fares to book alternate flights with other airlines.
