Giving information, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that a bonus of Rs 7000 per month will be given to the employees getting salary more than Rs 7000. This salary bonus will be paid to the employees before the start of Dussehra holidays.
Before Dussehra, the central government has given great news for the railway employees. As bonus, 78 days salary will be given to these employees. Giving information, the Railway Ministry said that on Saturday, (October 1, 2022), the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the bonus of railway employees equal to 78 days of wages.
According to the information given by the Railways, this decision will benefit 11.27 lakh railway employees. Product Link Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days’ salary will be paid to non-gazetted railway employees excluding RPF and RPSF personnel for the financial year 2021-22.

How much money will maximum employees get
The financial impact of payment of PLB for 78 days to Railway employees has been estimated to be Rs 1,832.09 crore. The salary limit prescribed for payment of PLB is 7,000 per month. Around Rs 17,951 will be paid per eligible railway employee for 78 days.

What information did the Ministry of Railways give
The circular of the Ministry of Railways has said that the employees have played an important role in the development of the sector, in which they have provided essential commodities like food, fertilizers, coal and other items even during the lockdown period. The circular states that railway employees have played an important role in passenger and goods services.

In the financial year 2021-22, the Railways carried 184 million tonnes of freight, the highest ever. The payment of PLB will act as an incentive. Payment of PLB will also boost demand in the economy in the coming festive season.
