On Monday, apart from Sugarfed Chairman Navdeep Singh Jida, MLA Narinder Pal Singh has given check amount to the beneficiaries for payment of salary dues. The amount will be visible in their account in 2 to 3 days.
Along with releasing the salaries, Punjab Sugarfed Chairman Navdeep Singh said that no sugarcane mill would be closed by the Punjab government. Farmers should plant more and more sugarcane. Farmers are being given the highest price for sugarcane in Punjab. He has also thanked the Chief Minister for releasing the dues of the employees.
Grant of Rs 126 crore
Sugar Fed MD Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu said that it is for the first time that farmers have been paid 70 percent of the total amount of their crops in all the nine sugar mills of the state. At the same time, this time, instead of giving loans, the government has given a grant of Rs 126 crore to the mills.
