According to media reports, before Diwali, the company has decided to increase the salary of Captains and Senior First Officers by 20 percent. The increased salary will start coming from October. Spiget will also deposit the TDS of all its employees in the next two-three weeks and will also deposit a large part of the outstanding EPF of the employees very soon.

Surprisingly, this decision has been taken when 80 pilots have been sent on leave without pay for 3 months on Tuesday itself. The company says that it has sent pilots on leave to reduce expenses. The same last month, the airline had given a 6 percent salary hike to the line captain and is now preparing to increase the salary by 20 percent again.

Gurcharan Arora, Chief Flight Operations, SpiceJet said that the loan under the ECLGS Credit Guarantee Scheme of the Central Government has been approved and we have received its first installment. Also said that our commitment to increase salary along with improvement in business is taken into account. Keeping in view the salaries of our pilots and senior first officers in the salary for the month of October will be increased by about 20 percent.
