There is good news for the government officials and employees of Chhattisgarh. The state government has increased the dearness allowance by 5 percent, after which the DA of the state employees has gone up to 33 percent. This will be applicable from October 1, in such a situation, the benefit of increased DA will be available in cash in the salary of October and November. However, the DA of state employees is still 5% less than the Center. The same has been increased by 12 percent in the dearness allowance of the salary earners from the sixth pay scale, after which they will get 201 percent dearness allowance instead of 189 percent dearness allowance.
In fact, recently the state government has increased the dearness allowance of the officers and employees of Chhattisgarh state by 5 percent. On the instructions of Chief Minister and Minister in charge of Finance Department Bhupesh Baghel, the Finance Department has issued an order to increase the DA. The increased rate of DA will be effective from 1st October 2022 only. The amount of increased inflation will be paid in cash from October 1, 2022. After the increase of 5 percent in DA, those who get salary from the seventh pay scale in the state will get 33 percent dearness allowance. This order of increase in dearness allowance will also be applicable for UGC, AICTE and contingency salary employees.
The state government has increased the dearness allowance by 12 percent for the salary earners from the sixth pay scale. Now they will get 201 percent dearness allowance instead of 189 percent dearness allowance. The Finance Department has issued a circular regarding the increase in dearness allowance to all the departments of the state government, chairman, revenue board, Bilaspur, all the heads of departments, divisional commissioners and collectors. It is noteworthy that DA was being paid at the rate of 28 percent from August-2022 to the officers and employees of the state. At the same time, those in the sixth pay scale were getting dearness allowance at the rate of 189 percent.
What is dearness allowance
Dearness allowance is a part of salary. It is a fixed percentage of the basic salary of the employee. To reduce the effect of inflation, the government gives dearness allowance to its employees. It is extended from time to time. Retired employees also get the benefit of this.
