In fact, it is being considered to increase the fitment factor for central employees. If this happens, there will be a bumper increase in the salary of the employees. Although it was believed that an increase in the Fitment Factor could be announced in the budget for the employees, but this has not happened. Now after the presentation of the general budget, preparations can be made afresh to increase the fitment factor by the end of this year. However, discussions have also started regarding the 8th Pay Commission.
Increase in salary
On the other hand, if the fitment factor is increased for the central employees, then there will be a significant increase in their salary. The fitment factor plays an important role in the salary received by the employees. Apart from salary allowances, their salaries are fixed on the basis of basic salary and fitment factor. In 2016, it was increased to 2.57 times. However, the center is being demanded to increase it to 3.68 times. If the government takes a decision on the fitment factor of government employees, then an increase of ₹ 6000 will be seen in the minimum salary of the employees. Same it will increase from Rs.18000 to Rs.26000.
Understand calculation like this
If the basic salary of the center employee is ₹ 18000, then excluding other allowances, his salary will be ₹ 18000 * 2.57 = 46260 rupees. If the fitment factor is increased to 3.68 times, then the basic salary of the employees will increase to 26000 rupees. From Rs.26000*3.68 their salary can reach up to Rs.95680. In this case, the employees will get a benefit of Rs 49420 as compared to the existing salary. At the same time, by the end of this year, a big decision can be seen in this.
With the demand of increasing the fitment factor from the employees’ union, it was believed that by the end of 2022 it could see an increase. However, this could not happen. No official announcement has been made on this even in the budget.
