Employees will once again get the benefit of leave. DoPT has issued orders for this. Along with issuing the order, all the departments were instructed to adopt this process as soon as possible and the benefit should be given to the officer employees on the due date.
Employees Paid Holiday: There is good news for the employees. Actually once again they will get the benefit of leave. However, the leave will be paid. An order has been issued for this. Holiday has been declared for all department employees.
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in India has issued an office memorandum providing paid leave to employees on the day of the General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura to be held in 2023. The Election Commission of India informed the ministry about the election schedule and the ministry reiterated the guidelines issued in 2001 regarding the closure of central government offices and paid leave to employees. Employees will be provided with paid leave to enable them to exercise their right to vote. The instructions will have to be brought to the notice of all concerned.
The order issued is directed to say that, as informed by the Election Commission of India vide their Press Note No. 78/EPS/2023 dated 18.01.2023, for the General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura To be organized as In such a situation, paid leave will be issued to the employees.

In this connection, it is stated that in respect of closure of Central Government offices on the date of General Elections and grant of paid holiday to all casual/casual workers concerned, vide this Department’s OM No. 12/14/99-JCA, Guidelines have been issued vide dated 10.10.2001.
Offices and establishments to remain closed in notified areas
The order reiterates that all Central Government offices and Central Industrial establishments shall remain closed in the notified areas where general elections to the State Legislative Assembly constituencies are to be held on the date of poll. The employees concerned will be provided paid leave on the date of poll to enable them to exercise their right to vote.
