More recently, the Modi cabinet of the Center has approved an increase of 4 percent dearness allowance, which will be effective from July 1, 2022. This decision of the government will benefit about 50 lakh employees and about 62 lakh pensioners.

Before Diwali, the state government has given gifts to the government employees. After the central government, now the dearness allowance (DA) of state employees has been increased by 4 percent. DA of pensioners and government employees will now be given 38 percent instead of 34 percent, which will be effective from July 1, 2022. This decision has been taken under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren for the employees of Jharkhand State.

According to the official announcement, 2 lakh government employees and 1.35 pensioners will be given the benefit. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dudel said that “The Council of Ministers has approved a proposal to increase the Dearness Allowance payable to state government employees to 38 per cent from the existing 34 per cent with effect from July 1, 2022.” He said that the cabinet has also decided to increase the dearness relief for pensioners from the existing 34 per cent to 38 per cent.

One after the other 19 proposals have been approved by the Council of Ministers. It also includes plans to conduct urban local body (ULB) elections in 2023 without OBC reservation. Dudell said that the election will be held next year, so keeping the OBC seat in mind, the election will be held without reservation berth. Apart from this, the cabinet has also approved a proposal of Rs 9.03 crore for 21 Sports Utility Vehicles for Jharkhand High Court Judge.

It is worth noting that recently, the Modi cabinet of the Center has approved an increase of 4 percent dearness allowance , which will be effective from July 1, 2022. This decision of the government will benefit about 50 lakh employees and about 62 lakh pensioners. At the same time, earlier in March, the Union Cabinet had approved a 3 per cent hike in dearness allowance under the Seventh Pay Commission, after which the DA was increased to 34 per cent.

Let us inform that in order to give relief from dearness to the employees and pensioners on behalf of the Central Government and the State Governments, dearness allowance is increased for the employees and dearness relief for the pensioners. This hike is usually done by the government every 6 months.
