Under this, government employees will get a total of 17 holidays in 2023. Apart from this, holidays will be available after regular intervals.
According to the annual calendar 2023 released by the Chandigarh Administration, there will be a total of 17 government holidays for government employees in the new year. Along with this, they will also get a chance to take two restricted holidays in a year as per their choice. The special thing is that January 1 is a Sunday and this government holiday will start with the Republic Day holiday on January 26.
List of 17 holidays for employees – January 26 Republic Day, March 8 Holi, March 30 Ram Navami, April 4 Mahashivratri, April 7 Good Friday, April 14 Vaisakhi, May 5 Buddha Purnima, June 29 Eid ul Azha (Bakrid), August 15 Independence Day, 7 September Janmashtami, 28 September Milad Un-Nabi, Eid-e-Milad, 2 October Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, 24 October Dussehra, 12 November Diwali, 13 November Govardhan Puja, 27 November Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jayanti and Christmas on 25 December leave is included.
