Apart from the employees, many big announcements are being made by the government continuously for 6th-7th pay commission pensioners. On the one hand, where the increase in their dearness relief (DR Hike) has been announced.
Instructions have been issued regarding the settlement of grievances of pensioners and family pensioners. A new order has been issued by the Ministry of Railways and Railway Board, in which instructions have been given for payment of their pension and family pension.
In the order issued by the Ministry of Railways, it has been said that there are constant complaints regarding pension and family pension. In many cases, the benefit of these pension facilities is not being made available to the pensioners. Issuing the order, the Ministry of Railways has said that orders have been issued for all pensioners to settle their grievances within the prescribed time limit of 45 days.
Apart from this, in the case of family pensioners, instructions have been given to solve their problems within 30 days and pay them. It has been said in the issued order that it will be mandatory for all the departments to strictly follow this instruction. Accountability of government officials will be ensured. On the other hand, if there is delay in resolving the grievances of pensioners, then administrative action can be taken against the officers for this.
The order said that all the ministries/departments of the central government should identify the major grievance-prone areas and accordingly streamline their system and resolve the grievances (years and above) within the stipulated time frame.
It will be the responsibility of each Railway/Production Unit to resolve the grievances within the stipulated time limit of 45 days in case of pensioners and 30 days in case of family pensioners and super senior pensioners.
It was also advised to ensure accountability of the Government officials dealing with the grievances of pensioners and administrative action be taken against the officials habitually responsible for delayed action or short disposal of grievances without qualitative action.
Instruct all concerned to follow these guidelines and arrange to submit the quarterly report in the format prescribed by DoPPW by 15th of next month by mail at npsrailwayboard[at]gmail.com.
According to the order issued by the Ministry of Railways, all the pensioners have been appealed to submit the life certificate. Earlier, along with a massive increase of 4 percent in the dearness allowance of central employees, 4 percent increase in dearness relief has also been announced for the pensioners receiving the seventh pay scale. Pensioners including employees will get its benefit from the month of November. Arrears for 3 months will also be paid in the pensioners’ account.
