The state government has given a big relief to its pensioners. In fact, an increase in his pension has been announced. Instead of Rs 16000, now his pension has been increased by 4000. After which 20000 rupees will be provided to the pensioners per month as pension. In this matter, the Home, Additional Chief Secretary has issued orders on Friday.
In fact, the pension of democracy fighters jailed under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act and Defense of India Rule has been increased. Let us inform that before this, an order was issued by the government on 17 January 2018 regarding giving pension and other facilities to the democracy fighters. During the emergency period from 25 June 1975 to 1977, the amount of pension to the democracy fighters who were imprisoned under MISA was made available.
At the same time in 2018 when this new scheme was started. At that time only 16 people were provided the benefit of pension in the state. However, now its number has increased to 50. At the same time, many people who were imprisoned during the emergency are no longer in this world. In such a situation, an appeal is being made by their relative dependents to give benefit to the dependents in this scheme.
Let us inform that under this scheme, the initiative to give respect and convenience to the people living in emergency was taken in Uttar Pradesh. After its launch in Uttar Pradesh in 2005 this year, gradually it was seen in other states of the country, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal and Haryana.
Under which political prisoners were declared democracy fighters during the Emergency by making rules for this in all the states and they were provided free travel and facilities along with pension. It was also implemented by Uttarakhand in 2018. Now orders have been issued by the Uttarakhand government to increase the pension to democracy fighters.
