Railway Employees Bonus: The central government announced on Wednesday that railway employees will get a bonus equal to their 78 days’ salary. In such a situation, this step will benefit more than 11.07 lakh non-gazetted employees of the national transporter.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said, ‘The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved Productivity-Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days’ salary for all eligible non-gazetted railway employees under the financial year 2022-23. Has given.

This decision will benefit track maintainers, loco pilots, train managers (guards), station masters, supervisors, technicians, technician helpers, pointsmen, ministerial staff and other Group ‘C’ staff, except RPF and RPSF personnel. Thakur said that payment of bonus will put a burden of Rs 1,968.87 crore on the government exchequer.

6.5 billion passengers traveled

An official statement said, ‘In view of the excellent performance, the Central Government has approved the payment of bonus of Rs 1,968.87 crore to 11,07,346 railway employees. The performance of Railways in the year 2022-2023 was very good. Railways transported a record 1.50 billion tonnes of goods and transported approximately 6.5 billion passengers to their destinations.

It further said that the factors contributing to the record performance include capital expenditure by the government in Railways, efficiency in operations and improvement in infrastructure due to better technology. The statement said that payment of PLB will act as an incentive to motivate railway employees to work towards further improvement in their performance.
