Employees New Pay Commission: Big benefits will be given to the employees of the state soon. In fact, with the announcement of the implementation of the seventh pay scale, an increase in the salary of more than 15,000 teachers, professors and assistant professors of all universities and their colleges is being considered as fixed. However, even after the announcement of the government, the benefit is not being given yet. On which anger was expressed by the employees. It has been said to implement the seventh pay scale within 1 week. Preparations have also started for this.

A meeting was held with the Director of Higher Education on Tuesday on behalf of the teacher and non-teaching representative of the college. Director Higher Education Amandeep Singh Bhatti said that all the issues of teaching and non-teaching staff would be resolved soon. As per 7th Central Pay Commission and latest UGC guidelines, staff teachers will be given the benefit of promotion including increment. According to the central rules, within 1 week, the new pay commission of the non-teaching staff of Chandigarh College will also be issued as per the notification of Punjab.

Earlier, with the implementation of the seventh pay scale, the Punjab government had decided to give the same pay scale to the college professors as prescribed by the UGC. This decision taken in September has not been implemented yet. Due to which the teaching staff were continuously making big demands. The seventh pay scale was implemented by the UGC in 2016.

Arrears of 6 years will be paid
However, Punjab is the only state which did not implement this pay scale. Along with the talk of implementing new pay scales from the month of October, arrears of 6 years were also talked about.

365 crore additional burden
However, notification regarding this has not been issued yet. Along with the announcement of the implementation of the seventh pay scale, 15,000 employees of affiliated colleges of all universities will get a big gift. An increase of 17 to 22 percent in his salary is believed to be fixed. Along with this, an increase of 10 to 25 thousand will be seen in their salary. If Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema is to be believed, the implementation of this decision will put an additional burden of Rs 365 crore on the government.

Arrears will be received in two installments
The Punjab government had announced the implementation of the seventh pay scale for college and university teachers from October 1. However, till now the teachers and employees are not getting its benefit. Along with this, arrears were also considered in two instalments. At present, the teacher employees will get huge benefits regarding promotion along with the first installment of arrears.
