Where it was announced to give them maternity benefit. Along with giving the benefit of maternity leave, now the facility of maternity benefit to women has also been simplified.
In fact, the process of taking maternity benefits to women has been made online. After which women employees will now be able to claim maternity benefits from anywhere in the country as per their convenience for availing maternity benefits. Also it will become very easy to claim maternity benefit by ESIC subscriber alone. The online portal has been started by the corporation.
In this case, Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav says that technology is being used by ESIC to make the life of Emitra women easier, which is very commendable. This portal is operated to make the benefits easily available to the beneficiary. Now women employees can also claim maternity benefit. The beneficiary had to reach the concerned branch office but now it can be availed by the female employee from anywhere in the country as per her convenience.
In addition to medical benefits, sick benefits are provided to employees under Employees’ State Insurance. During this, 70% of the average daily wage is paid in cash for 91 days for sick leave while maternity benefits up to 26 weeks during leave, up to 6 weeks in case of pregnancy and 12 weeks for commissioning or adoptive mother. There is a rule to pay 100 percent of the average daily wage in cash.
According to a figure, during the year 2021-22, a total of 18.69 lakh women beneficiaries have been given maternity benefit of Rs 37.37 crore. Apart from this, under ESIC, disability benefits, dependent public benefits, unemployment allowance including old age medical benefits and other benefits are made available to the beneficiaries.
