Government canceled 4.39 crore ration cards, check if your ration card did not work

The governments of many states and union territories of the country have canceled a total of about 4.39 crore Ration Cards in the country from 2013 to 2020.

One Nation One Ration Card Scheme: The Central Government has canceled 4.39 crore fake ration cards for the purpose of curbing the fraud taking place through ration cards and benefiting the right beneficiaries. The Department of Food and Public Distribution has done this work under NFSA. In lieu of canceled ration cards, new ration cards have been issued regularly to the rightful and eligible beneficiaries or families. This has been done so that the right beneficiaries can get subsidized food grains.

After digitizing the ration cards and beneficiaries database, linking it with Aadhaar, identifying fake ration cards, preventing duplication of digitized data and identifying cases of beneficiaries moving or dying elsewhere The Union Territory Governments have canceled a total of about 4.39 crore ration cards in the country during the period from 2013 to 2020. Apart from this, the respective quota issued by NFSA is being used regularly by the respective states or union territories for correct identification of beneficiaries under NFSA. Under this, work is being done to include eligible beneficiaries and families, issue new ration cards to them.

Explain that about 81.35 crore people get benefits under the National Food Security Act. It is about two-thirds of the country’s population. Currently, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana / PMGKAY Pradhan Mantri Kalyan Anna Yojana, about 80 crore people are getting 5 kg of food grains every month. At present, the government is expanding the scheme. The plan was launched in March 2020 to fight the corona virus epidemic.
