Meghalaya has promised to implement the 7th Pay Commission and timely payment of salaries to government employees.

In the country’s Meghalaya state, the BJP has issued a manifesto saying that the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented, till now the 5th Pay Commission was applicable there. BJP President JP Nadda on Wednesday released the party’s election manifesto for Meghalaya in state capital Shillong. Meghalaya has promised to implement the 7th Pay Commission and timely payment of salaries to government employees.

BJP chief JP Nadda said that the 7th Pay Commission would be implemented soon in Meghalaya and the salaries of government employees would be disbursed on time. Let us inform that earlier the employees of Meghalaya were given salary on the basis of 5th pay scale. But now they will also get increased salary on the basis of 7th Pay Commission.

The Meghalaya government had approved a 4 per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) to state employees and pensioners in the month of December. Due to which his DA has increased from 28 percent to 32 percent.

5th pay scale was applicable to 7 colleges

Earlier in December, the cabinet had decided that the Fifth Pay Commission would be applicable to 7 ad-hoc colleges in the state. The chief minister had said that seven ad-hoc colleges – Red Laban College, Women’s College, Tikrikila College, Durama College, Mahendraganj College and Sohra College – are given grants-in-aid to a special status, where 75% is funded by the government and 25% by the management. is borne by the committee, but he was not getting the 5th Pay Commission. After much thought, the government has decided that the 5th Pay Commission will be applicable to the seven ad-hoc colleges and will pay the arrears.

JP Nadda made these announcements

Nadda said that the amount given to farmers under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi will be increased by Rs 2000 and a bond of Rs 50,000 will be given on the birth of a girl child and free education will be provided to girls from kindergarten to post-graduation. Along with this, he said that he will also start an assistance scheme for financial assistance of Rs 24,000 annually to empower dependent widows and single mothers. The beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme will be given two LPG cylinders annually.
