Approval of pay scale
This decision of the cabinet to implement the pay scales of UGC will help the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Veterinary University to make concerted efforts to make Punjab a leader. Equal pay for sweepers
In 582 Civil Veterinary Hospitals of the State, extension in tenure of service providers like Veterinary Pharmacists and Safai Sevaks has been approved from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. It has also been decided that DC rates should be provided to all these service providers to bring equality in honorarium. It is notable that the government had removed these 582 Civil Veterinary Hospitals (including sanctioned posts of Rural Veterinary Officers) from the management of Zilla Parishads under the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats and put them back under the Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development. Some of these safai sevaks are taking minimum wage and some are being given only 6 thousand rupees less than the minimum wage. But the Punjab government has now decided to extend his job by one year. Along with this, all the cleaning workers will be given equal pay.
