In April, the GST collection has broken all the records and has become the highest ever GST collection. But inflation has played a big role in this achievement of the government, which has broken the back of the common man. Inflation is increasing the troubles of the common people on the one hand. On the other hand, it is filling the treasury of the government.

Along with inflation, the government has earned a record 1.68 lakh crore from GST in April due to the easing of tax compliance rules. According to the data, the month when inflation is high, the GST collection also increases in the same month.

sharp rise in inflation

In March, the GST collection was 1.42 lakh crore and the wholesale inflation rate was 14.55 percent and the retail inflation was at a 17-month high of 6.95 percent. That is, inflation is doing magic for the government, while the general public is struggling for livelihood under its burden.

Traders also believe that the increase in GST collection is a sign of the effect of high inflation due to the economic boom. It has become a big challenge for the traders themselves to produce in the era of inflation and increase sales by keeping the price under control.

Petrol and diesel spoiled the budget

Inflation has also affected the sale of petrol and diesel and LPG in April. In April, state-owned oil companies sold 2.58 million tonnes of petrol, a marginal increase of just 2.1 per cent over March. Diesel sales also stood at 66.9 lakh tonnes, which is only 0.3 per cent higher than March.

At the same time, the consumption of LPG has decreased by 9.1 percent to 22 lakh tonnes as compared to March. Now the way the price of commercial gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 100 on May 1, food items outside are going to be expensive.Live TV
