The number of people filing GST returns increased-
The Finance Ministry informed in another tweet that the number of people filing GST returns in the country has increased in the last 5 years. About 65 percent people now file Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns in the country. By April 2023, the number of GST return filers increased to 1.13 crore. The number of people doing GST registration has also increased to 1.40 crore, which was 1.06 crore in April 2018.
90 percent of GST registered are filing GSTR-3B returns in the current financial year. This figure was 68 percent in 2017-18, the year before the implementation of GST.
