District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Chairman and Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav has issued orders to withdraw the decision of November 6. Now, primary schools across the district can resume classes in offline mode. The new order states that to avoid disruption, school managements were ordered to continue studies only in online mode, but now the order has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

However, the air quality in Gurugram was recorded in the “very poor” category on Monday, a day after Diwali. The city’s air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 349 on Monday. This index was up to seven times higher than normal. Last year, Gurugram’s AQI was recorded at 257 the day after Diwali. Manesar’s AQI was recorded at 328 on Monday, while 224 was recorded a day after Diwali in 2022.

According to experts, the city residents got some relief from the rain last week before Diwali, but after the fireworks on Sunday, the air quality once again deteriorated. The Meteorological Department said that there is no possibility of rain in the coming days. In such a situation, dangerous levels of air pollution may persist for a few days.
