How to correct EPF UAN details online or offline



The main purpose of this unique number is to provide access to employees to have a view of his/her profile and access the services like changing profile, download online passbook, or request for transfer. You need to create a login by visiting UAN Homepage to avail such facilities. Click on this LINK to verify whether you have been allotted a UAN or not.

Now let us first see how one can update or correct EPF UAN details online. Here is the step by step process for the same.

1. Go to EPFO Homepage

Click on “For Employees”

2. This will take you to the page which looks like below.

Here, you have to click on link for UAN Helpdesk.

3. This again will take you to the another page which looks like below.

Click on Member section.

4. This will re-direct you to the portal where you have to update your EPF UAN details online.

5) Here is the list of the problems which you can update and is shown in below image.

 This platform is very useful for availing below services:

  • You can get your UAN number in case you forgot it.
  • You forgot password and due to mobile change you are not able to get OTP and login to UAN online facility.
  • If you entered your details incorrectly like the spelling of your name, date of birth, father name or wrong date of joining details etc.
  • If details not matching during UAN activation.
  • To check your claim status of EPF transfer or EPS.
  • To check the status of linking of EPF account and UAN No.
  • If your KYC is pending with employer.
  • Or you have any other issue which you want to rectify it.

6. if you want to know your password in case of mobile change, then the screen looks like below.

Once you fill the details, you have to generate an OTP, which will be sent to your registered mobile number.

7) Then enter the OTP received on your mobile and click verify OTP.

8) This will gives you a reference ID for the request you generated. This ID will be helpful for your future reference.  Here is the snapshot of the screen below.

You have seen how to correct EPF UAN details online. Now let us take a look at the process of update or correct EPF UAN details offline:

  • You need to carry on the offline update or correction activity through your employer.
  • Submit the request to your employer with supporting necessary documents.
  • Your employer in return will need to contact the concerned EPFO Field Office for change.
  • But in case of date of birth of EPF account mismatch, ONLY the previous employer can correct it for you.

  4. Now the esteemed PF Organization has removed the “UAN Helpdesk” link itself brilliantly. Additionally whatever is listed also doesn’t work. Nobody wants to work here since they are government employee no one can dare to take any action on not working.

    • The UAN WEBSITE IS TO BE HATED ON SIGHT…THE MOST ANTI EMPLOYEE FRIENDLY.. ALWAYS WANTS EMPLOYEE TO GET EMPLOYER APPROVAL… EVEN FOR CORRECTING FATHER’S NAME…OR YOUR OWN BANK ACCOUNT NO…IFSC CODE..ETC…THE UAN IS A MASTER WEBSITE. FOR LOOT

      I wish to inform you that I visited your office on 14.12.2017 & contacted in your Pension Department to Mr Francis for release of Pension Arrear but the File was Locked in your system.I provided him my Mobile No to inform me the status. Till today I have not received any reply from your office. I am regularly calling your office Phone Nos 28050753 / 28050758 / 28050759 / 28050991 but no one is attending the call. Everyone is busy in their personal work on their personal Mobile. It is waste of money for payment of Phone Bills.
      You are requested to save the money by getting the phones disconnected.& provide on your portal the Mobile No of the Staff who is dealing with Public.I am waiting for reply from your end for my Arrear.

    My gender is not specified by my last employer due to which I am not able to update my adhaar to my uan please suggest what should be done… Also I have not withdrawn last 3 companies PF . I don’t have uan no for that bt I have pf account number . How can I withdraw my pf amt… Pls guide..

  10. You need to update the Aadhar no and correct name in the correction field. Correct name should match with Aadhar. Once you submit the correct details then it will go to employer for approval. After employer’s approval it takes around 20 working days by epfo to do the correction.

    • Login to Unified members portal, and under ‘Manage’ – ‘Contact Details’, you can change your contact number.

  20. I have my UAN No. to which my last PF a/c is attached to which I can view and download statement but my previous PF a/c with same Employer is not added. In no web site I find link to resolve this issue. Kindly guide me.

  42. I Had to compile my EPF of 3 Companies I worked in Past.One Employer HQ is Mumbai,Another Office is at Delhi and Third one at Hyderabad. They have Deposited my Contribution in Three Regions. Previous companies I worked are One is 15 Years Back and is for 2 Years,Another one 7 Years Back and is for a Period of 5 Years and Third one 3 Years and I Resigned Recently.
