Hyundai Motor India on Monday introduced a new version of its 7-seater SUV Alcazar. The new Alcazar is available in both petrol and diesel variants. The price of the petrol version (Delhi, showroom) starts at Rs 14.99 lakh, while the diesel version starts at Rs 15.99 lakh. Hyundai Motor India Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tarun Garg said that the revision in the price of Alcazar will give the company an opportunity to get new customers. He said that Alcazar is the eighth model of the company to be equipped with Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) features.
Available with two engine options
This three-row SUV comes in two powertrain options: 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel, both available with manual and automatic transmission. There are four variants available. Bookings for the Alcazar are currently open at a token amount of Rs 25,000. It will compete with the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700. The 2024 Alcazar is based on Hyundai’s global design language with split headlight clusters and H-shaped connected LED DRLs. The signature quad-beam headlamps are all-LED, the hood gets additional character lines while the front fascia gets an all-blacked out front grille with a new skid plate. It now gets all-LED sequential indicators.

Features in Hyundai Alcazar
This SUV gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Hyundai is offering complimentary subscription of JioSaavn for one year, in-built navigation with multi-language user interface display and dual-zone automatic climate control with touch buttons. Both the 6 and 7-seater variants get rain-sensing wipers, 8-speaker Bose sound system, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, wireless chargers in the first and second rows, magnetic pad and more. 67 percent share in SUV market
Hyundai Motor India Managing Director Unsoo Kim said, “As the interest in SUVs in India is increasing, our SUV penetration is also increasing. Currently, our SUV penetration is 67 percent, which is much higher than the industry average of 53 percent.” He said that the company’s mid-size SUV Creta (the latest version of which was introduced earlier this year) has already crossed the one lakh unit sales mark. Kim said the automaker is committed to providing sustainable and convenient transportation solutions.
