In the preceding 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have witnessed light to moderate rain and snow along with heavy rain and snowfall at a few places. However, the weather remained dry in other areas while rains continued in the southern states as well. Drizzle has been seen in some areas including Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu.

Temperature increased in Punjab, Haryana

An increase in maximum temperature is also being observed. Chandigarh has recorded 3 percent more temperature than normal.

However, due to the activation of Western Disturbance, the weather may change soon in Punjab and Chandigarh. Strong winds will blow in Haryana and Punjab. The sky will be cloudy. Heavy rain alert in hill state

Due to the Western Disturbance becoming active from tonight, there is a possibility of rain in many hilly areas including Jammu Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Forecast of rain has also been expressed in Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, Leh Ladakh today. Along with this, snowfall will also be seen in these areas. Earlier yesterday also, rain was recorded on the high altitude areas. Along with recording rain, the effect of snowfall was also seen in many areas.

The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and the tribal belt of Lahaul Spiti recorded moderate snowfall while Chamba, Kullu including Shimla and Kangra areas received intermittent rain. FoxR recorded 3.4 cm of snowfall while Kukum Seri and Keylong also saw snowfall.
