The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of moderate to heavy rain in 10 states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala on Friday, 25 November.
IMD Weather Update: Due to the effect of Western Disturbance in November, the weather of the country is undergoing changes. On one hand, rain is being seen in the southern states, while the effect of cold and fog is visible in states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of moderate to heavy rain in 10 states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala on Friday, 25 November.
According to weather forecast agency Skymet, today light to moderate rain may occur over parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, South Interior Karnataka, North Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Light rain is likely at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Telangana and Goa. According to IMD, a fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form over North Andaman Sea. This will change the weather of the surrounding area.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with snow in many areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand even today. Due to the cold winds coming from the mountainous regions, cold has started increasing in many states including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and a drop in temperature is being seen. Pollution along with fog in Delhi can lead to cold wave conditions in some parts of Rajasthan.
Rain alert in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, even today, there is a possibility of rain in many places including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. During the next 5 days, parts of Lakshadweep, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh Light to moderate rain is likely to continue. In the next four to five days, the effect of cold wave will be seen in North India after November 25, with a decrease of three to five degrees in the minimum temperature of Odisha.
Cold will increase in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and strong wind in Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi as well as West Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature will increase by 2-3 degree Celsius in many parts of Bihar and Jharkhand during the next 2 days. No significant change thereafter. Rest parts of the country will not see any significant change in minimum temperatures during next 5 days.
