Rain alert in 17 districts

Light to moderate rain at one or two places with isolated heavy rain very likely over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Light rain is expected in parts of North Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Marathwada, Uttarakhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light rain is expected at many places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of Uttarakhand state.   • Above normal heat wave conditions would prevail over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and parts of North Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh and Coastal Gujarat.
  • During May 2023, above normal day heat wave conditions are very likely over most parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, East Uttar Pradesh and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
  • Heat wave conditions are also likely over East Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and North Chhattisgarh and Coastal Gujarat during the day.
