The low pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal has been predicted to turn into a cyclone. Although the Meteorological Department (IMD Alert) has denied this, but its big impact will be seen on many states. Rain has been forecast before Diwali.

Regarding the Indian Meteorological Department, today there is a possibility of heavy rain in Gujarat and Maharashtra, apart from this, the period of snowfall has also started on the mountains. Due to which there will be a drop in the temperature, due to the cold air, moisture is being created in the state. The sky is cloudy while the weather is covered with fog in the evening.

According to the Meteorological Department, a pressure area is forming in the troposphere over the Bay of Bengal. With the formation of the center, a Western Disturbance is also moving rapidly. In the Arabian Sea also, a new cyclonic pressure center is seen forming in the lower troposphere near Karnataka and Konkan coast. Due to which the possibility of rain has been predicted in many states from next week.

There is a possibility of rain in many parts of the country all over North India. Along with this, a yellow alert of rain has been issued in 12 states. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, New Delhi, Punjab, Haryana will see a knock of fog from the evening itself. Before this, the knock of pink cold has started in Uttar Pradesh.

Clouds/Fog in the sky in Delhi

The sky will remain cloudy in Delhi. There will be a knock of cold in the evening. The weather will be cloudy with fog. Apart from this, a drop of 5 percent in night temperature can also be recorded.

Winter knocks in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh

Knock of winter is being seen in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Actually, the effect of snowfall on the hills of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand is being seen in Kanpur.   • Very heavy rain and gusty winds are very likely to occur over Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh between October 23 and 27.
  • On Tuesday, the IMD confirmed the formation of a fresh Low Pressure Area (LPA). It will move towards East Bay of Bengal and Indian Coast in next 48 hours.
  • According to the IMD, this disturbance is “very likely” to intensify into a depression by Saturday (October 22) and then into a cyclonic storm over the western Bay of Bengal.
  • Both the Global Forecast System (GFS) and European ECMWF models agree that the storm will track more northward and remain weak with peak intensity of 60–70 kmph.
  • As per the latest ECMWF estimates, the system will develop into a deep depression and make landfall near Odisha-West Bengal border by Tuesday next week.
    Rapid change in weather in Bihar

Bihar is witnessing rapid change in weather. The maximum temperature is expected to fall in December. At the same time, there is a drop in temperature in Patna, the capital of Bihar. A slight chill has begun. Moisture is retained in the air. Monsoon has bid farewell to the cold. Apart from fog and cold, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning due to falling temperatures. The temperature continues to drop sharply as the evening approaches.

Pink cold in Chhattisgarh from Madhya Pradesh

The knock of pink cold has started in Chhattisgarh from Madhya Pradesh. In many areas where there is a sharp drop in temperature. The effect of snowfall is also being seen in Madhya Pradesh. Due to the snowfall on the mountains, cold winter winds have moved towards Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Due to which moisture is retained in the air. In the evening, the atmosphere of fog is being seen. However, the effect of drizzle will be seen in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In fact, after Diwali, rain can be seen in these areas. Due to the cyclonic situation in the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of rain in these areas.

Rain forecast for Jharkhand for 3 days

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain for Jharkhand for 3 days. However, there is a possibility of rain after 3 days. Earlier today, drizzle has been seen in many areas of Jharkhand. Along with this, there is a possibility of moderate thunder and rain within 1 to 3 hours in some parts of Bokaro Gumla Hazaribagh Khunti Ramgarh Ranchi Simdega district. The Meteorological Department has instructed the people of these areas to be alert. Apart from this, heavy rain has started in Rashi. Today rain has been predicted in many parts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, from October 25 to 26, such an environment can remain.

Cyclonic System Alert in Odisha and Bengal

A warning has been issued in Odisha and Bengal due to the active cyclonic system. There is a significant drop in temperature. However, the possibility of rain has been ruled out. The low pressure that is forming in the Bay of Bengal is expected to become active by 20 October. Along with this, the possibility of turning it into a depression has also been expressed, if the cyclonic system turns into a depression, then its direct effect will be seen on Jharkhand including Andhra Pradesh, Orissa Bengal. Also, it is expected to increase again.

Cyclone warning

  • IMD has mentioned in its report dated 17 October 2022, citing GFS, that a possible cyclone ‘Sitang’ over the Bay of Bengal is likely to make landfall in North Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of 25 October.
  • According to the model, a depression is likely to form over West Central Bay of Bengal on October 22
  • A deep depression over West Central Bay of Bengal on 23 October
  • A very severe cyclonic storm is very likely to occur over West Central Bay of Bengal on October 24.
  • This model is indicating that the system will cross north Andhra Pradesh near 18.5/84.0 to the north of Srikakulam in the early hours of 25 October.
  • Even though some meteorologists have indicated the intensity of the system in the cyclone, the premier weather agency of the nation-India Meteorological Department (IMD) is still silent on it. However, it has been confirmed that a cyclonic circulation has already formed over South Andaman Sea.
  • Meteorologists believe that after the formation of low pressure around October 20, things will become clear about a possible cyclone. According to meteorologists, the full picture of the cyclone will be revealed on October 22. If the picture confirms the cyclone, then its movement track could be Odisha-Andhra or Odisha-West Bengal coast.
    Chance of rain in eastern state

Light rain likely over Assam Meghalaya Manipur Nagaland Mizoram Although the period of decline in temperature will continue, the knock of pink cold has started. Apart from this, fog has also knocked in these states. By evening, there is a drop of 5 percent in the temperature. According to the Meteorological Department, soon these states will see the knock of cold.

Heavy rain alert in southern state

Heavy rain alert was issued in many parts of Maharashtra including Kerala Karnataka Tamil Nadu today. Along with this, people have been advised to be alert due to thunder. Lightning has been predicted at several places. According to the Meteorological Department, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu will see heavy rains today. The rain in these areas will continue till October 23.
