Due to heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, schools have been closed in many districts of the state. Orange alert has been issued in these states by the Indian Meteorological Department. According to the report released by IMD, on Tuesday 14th November i.e. today, there may be heavy to very heavy rainfall at different places in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. During this period, rainfall in these areas may range between 115.6 to 204.5 mm.

The Indian Meteorological Department, while giving weather update, wrote on Twitter, ‘Orange Alert! Coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on November 13 and 14. During this period, rainfall in these areas may range from 115.6 to 204.4 mm. Light to moderate rain may occur in many areas on November 14. At the same time, storm and lightning have also been predicted at many places.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur
at many places in Tamil Nadu like Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram. At the same time, there is a possibility of torrential rain at different places in Tirupattur, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Tiruchirappalli, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai districts.
