According to the Meteorological Department, in the last 24 hours, there was heavy rain in the southern interior areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana.
Weather is changing in most of the states of the country. The day is sunny, due to which the mercury is rising and one can feel the heat, while in the evening, there is a feeling of mild winter. Meanwhile, the low pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal has once again indicated a change in the weather. The Meteorological Department has warned that the low pressure area may turn into a cyclone (IMD cyclonic activities) resulting in heavy rains in many states.
The Meteorological Department has said in its daily briefing (IMD Daily Weather Report) that a low pressure area is forming over North Andaman Sea today connecting South Andaman Sea in Southeast Bay of Bengal. It is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm (IMD cyclonic systems) over west-central and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal by October 24. According to IMD, the effect of Western Disturbance coming over the Himalayas is likely to be visible in the Gangetic plains from next week. At the same time, the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal may turn into a cyclone by the end of the week. In view of the threat of cyclone, the Odisha government has canceled the employees’ leave from October 23 to October 25, and the state has issued an alert for its coastal districts.
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD Forecast), a new cyclonic pressure center is seen forming in the lower troposphere near Karnataka and Konkan coast in the Arabian Sea, accompanied by a western disturbance, causing rain in many states of the country next week. Possibility is on the way. IMD has forecast heavy rain in many parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till October 21.
On the other hand, snowfall has started in the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, although the Meteorological Department has predicted that till Diwali, it may rain in many states of the country. The weather is likely to remain rough in many parts of Himachal Pradesh for three days, with the Meteorological Department forecasting rain and snowfall in many areas of the state.
