A few days ago, the central government had given a big gift by increasing the DA for central employees and pensioners, which benefited more than one crore people.

After increasing the DA, it is believed that there will be an increase in the basic salary of the employees. The employees have now demanded to increase the fitment factor.

But the government has not yet taken any decision on this. In such a situation, it is being speculated that the decision to increase the Fiment Factor may be postponed till next year.

According to information received from government sources, there will be no increase in the fitment factor in the year 2022. At present, the government is not in favor of increasing the fitment factor. Due to the Corona epidemic and inflation, this additional economic burden cannot be increased at the moment.

According to sources, it is not possible to take any decision on the fitment factor till the next pay commission. It is also difficult to say when the next pay commission will come. The government is trying to make such a formula, which will increase the salary from time to time.

In fact, there was a long-standing demand of central and state government employees to increase their fitment factor from 2.57 per cent to 3.68 per cent. On the other hand, the employees expected that the increased fitment factor could be declared in the salary for the month of March.

Know what is fitment factor? As per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, at present the fitment factor is 2.57. The basic pay of central employees is calculated by multiplying the fitment factor of the 7th Pay Commission by 2.57.

After the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, the basic pay was added to the pay band of the Sixth Pay Commission by adding grade pay. In this, the current entry level salary was multiplied by the fitment factor 2.57, which worked out the pay according to the pay band of the employees.
