After the strict instructions of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, now the offices of the Income Tax Department across the country will remain open on Saturdays in the month of March. A senior official of the department gave this information.
It is worth mentioning that Finance Minister Sitharaman had earlier this week slammed the CBDT and CBIC for not responding to complaints of taxpayers during an event.

A senior official told PTI that all Income Tax offices up to the level of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax will remain open on all Saturdays this month. This arrangement has started from today i.e. March 12. Generally Saturday and Sunday are holidays for the employees of Income Tax Department.
On this day the offices of the Income Tax Department across the country remain closed. This strict step has been taken to address all the complaints of income tax payers before the end of this financial year.
Due to this decision, 3 extra days of work can be done in the month of March. Due to which the grievances of more and more taxpayers can be resolved.
