To whom can I transfer my ticket?
According to railway rules, you can transfer your ticket only in the name of your family members like parents, siblings, son-daughter or wife. This means that your close friends cannot travel on your ticket.
How to transfer
To transfer the ticket, first of all you have to take the printout of that ticket and take it to your nearest railway station. Carry an ID proof like Aadhaar card of the person in whose name the ticket is to be transferred. By applying which you will have to give an application for ticket transfer.
Transfer has to be done 24 hours in advance
According to railway rules, you have to apply 24 hours in advance for transfer of ticket to someone else’s name. If you want to go to the wedding, then you have to apply 48 hours in advance.
You only get one chance
