In this episode, Railways is considering to introduce premium Tatkal scheme in all trains in future. Actually, Railways reserves some seats under the premium Tatkal scheme. Passengers have to pay some extra amount to book these tickets. In such a situation, if this service starts in all trains, then lakhs of railway passengers may be affected.

These rules can also be changed.
In the year 2020-21, Railways has earned more than Rs 500 crore from Tatkal and Premium Tatkal booking. Was withdrawn in 2020 amid the -19 pandemic.
However, the senior citizen subsidy may come back with changes in the criteria, which include raising the eligible age from 58 years to 70 years for women and 60 years for women.
