The Railway Board makes rules keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers and enforces them. These rules are changed from time to time according to the need. Let us know that railway rule under which no passenger can sit on your seat.
There is a problem in the third AC or sleeper
Whenever you travel in AC third class or sleeper, the biggest problem is about middle berth. It is seen that the passenger with the lower berth stays seated till late in the night, so the passenger with the middle berth lays down to take rest. It has also come to the fore that the passengers of the middle berth keep sitting on the lower berth till late night, due to which the lower berth suffers.
These 8 hours out of 24 hours are important
According to the rules of the railway, you can open the middle berth from 10 pm to 6 am. That is, if you have a lower berth, then after 10 pm, the middle berth or upper berth passenger cannot sit on your seat. You can ask him to go to his seat by referring to the railway rules. Apart from this, even if the passenger with the middle berth opens his seat during the day, you can still refuse him by telling the rules of the railway.
TTE does not have the right to check tickets
Often passengers complain that after sleeping the TTE wakes up to check the ticket. This disturbs sleep and causes trouble. According to the Railway Manual, TTE cannot check tickets from 10 pm to 6 am during the sleeping hours of the passengers. But if your journey starts after 10 pm, then this railway rule does not apply. TTE can also do checking after 10 pm in special circumstances.
Prohibition on listening to songs in loud voice
Passengers often complain to the Railway Board about listening to songs or watching videos in loud voice on the co-traveller’s mobile at night. Keeping this in mind, the Railways has banned listening to songs or watching videos without earphones after 10 pm. As per the rules, you cannot listen to songs or watch videos without ear phones after 10 pm. Talking loudly at night is also not aloud.
Action can be taken against the passenger
If your co-traveller does not listen to you, then you can complain to the railway staff present in the train for this. It is the responsibility of the railway staff to come on the spot and solve your problem. If the co-passenger still does not agree, then action can be taken against him as per the rules of the Railways.
