Whereas Zoomcar, is making no exceptions and has made Aadhaar a mandatory document to avail services, without which users in north India and Vijayawada cannot proceed with vehicle booking. It started insisting on Aadhaar in June and will extend it to users pan India in a month.

“Aadhaar has the best API integration, the latest documents are getting linked with bank accounts. If you have an Aadhaar card, you have the KYC (know your customer) sorted,” said a Zoomcar representative. The company, founded in 2013, operates in 27 cities as of now.

Mobile wallet Paytm has also requested users to link their Aadhaar details with their Paytm account. Cab aggregators Uber and Ola are also looking at ways to integrate the very important Aadhaar into their platforms. Currently, Aadhaar is compulsory for consumers to get government subsidies, operate a bank account, and get a SIM or phone connection. As per the new government rule, all the people are required to link their Aadhaar number to existing bank accounts by the end of this year.

    • Agree. Many seniors find it difficult. Number is long. Don’t know why private organisations need these . It’s a compromise on security and safety. Understandable for availing govt benefits such as subsidy, pension etc.
Don’t know how NRI and OCI card holders can get AADHAAR. They are not entitled, How can they operate their NRO accounts, when they have no adhaar card, as not entitled. Many NRI and oci card holders have already lost money, as they could not exchange or deposit in bank,as they did not visit India within due dates. The amount of individuals is not much and it does not become feasible to come for this purpose only. Hope they are not denied money held in ppf, nsc, mf just because they don’t have adhaar and not eligible to get the same.

  1. I am a Sr. Citizen, 67 years old, and a retired professional engineer and a retired professor. I have linked my Aadhar with PAN no. and also with bank a/c’s and with my mobile no. In spite of this, every now and then, I am receiving messages from various outfits to link my Aadhar with them, why? I am afraid to give this info to so many organizations because i) I hear all kinds of fraud cases, one of my Sr. Citizen friend lost quite a bit of money from his bank a/c. ii) I am not computer or net savvy, and have problem in interpreting and typing info through digital network. Why not Government do something so that these organizations will get my Aadhar no. from the Government. In this way, I will feel safe and secured and will be able to avoid unnecessary harassment and embarrassment. Thanks.

  2. Yes I am fully agree with Mr. Alok Sarkar. If any Organisation requires to link Client’s Aadhar with them, than concerned organisation should approach to the government directly. As we have already linked our Aadhar with so many Government’s Organisation. Thanks.

  4. In my personal opinion, we shoukd not provide our Aadhar No. to any internet provider other than Bank, P.O. Or an institutions from whom i do the financial transaction so that Govt may trace my income but why to service provider like Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, Amazone etc, etc…If at all it us required , they should ask the Govt. We must not share our privacy to everybody .
One can ask for other id card, but not Aadhar.

    • I too feel that we should not give our
Andhar card details to any private business
Establishments.even for Internet connection too. Later on the very same
Got. itself will declare ADHAR card is not
needed for Internet/mobile service providers as these things will become an
      Acute Headache for Got itself.

  5. I personally do not understand why so much noise is created. For most of people like us I fail to understand what havens are going to fall if you quote your AADHAAR number. Let us not forget that this is one of the steps the Central Govt. is taking to discipline the wrong practices etc. prevailing in various industries particularly building industry where menace of black money etc is the largest and which presently is going absolutely unchecked. I am not discounting that there could be some serious concern for some people which ,if properly presented to the Govt., can certainly be sorted out. However, for most the people it should practically be a non-issue. A simple question. Do we not quote routinely our PAN Number at most of places including I/T Returns etc. In such situations, are we seriously concerned about various points which the opponents are AADHAAR are raising? Let us be true and honest to ourselves.

  6. I have approached twice to my mobile service provider to link my Aghar Card to my mobile no 9377106799.
They have not accepted the Adhar Card because my thumb impression does not register. What should I do ?
