The Ministry of Education has declared the new sessions of JEE (Main). This year JEE (Main) exam will be conducted in two sessions to be held in the month of April and May. Earlier last year JEE Main exam was conducted four times. However, now students will get only two chances to appear in JEE exam this time.

This entrance exam for admission to IITs is conducted in two parts. The first stage of JEE is JEE Main and the second stage is JEE Advanced test. Children applying for IITs first apply for Mains and those who clear it further appear in JEE Advanced exam.
Only the top 2,20,000 out of the children who appear in JEE Main exam are eligible to appear in the advanced exam. This exam will be held a few weeks after the main exam. To appear in JEE, it is mandatory for a student to score good marks in class 12 board.

There are two papers in JEE Main, Paper-1 and Paper-2. Candidates can also choose one or both the papers. Both contain multiple choice questions. Paper 1 B.E. And for admission in B.Tech course it is conducted in both online and offline mode. Paper-2 is for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses and is conducted offline only.
Unlike JEE Edwards, JEE Main has a fixed exam structure. Paper-1 is of three hours duration and consists of thirty-three multiple-choice (single-correct) questions each in three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).
