JioHotstar: Reliance Industries and Wall Disney Company’s combined media company JioStar has launched a new streaming platform JioHotstar. This new platform is being launched by combining Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema. In this, users will enjoy shows, movies and sports etc. The company has also announced its subscription plan. What will happen to existing users?
After the launch of JioHotstar, many users will have a question in their mind that what will happen to their existing plan? Responding to this, the company has said that existing customers of Jio Cinema and Disney Plus Hotstar will be able to set up a subscription of JioHotstar without any hassle. JioStar CEO Entertainment Kevin Vaz said that existing customers of Disney Plus Hotstar will not see any change in the new platform. The subscription of existing subscribers will continue at the current prices. On the other hand, Jio Cinema subscribers will be migrated to Jio Hotstar Premium. Vaj said that Jio Cinema subscribers will be given automatic premium access.
A few hours will be available free every month
The company has said that on the new platform, users will get a chance to stream for free for a limited number of hours every month. During this time, they will be able to watch all the content except Hollywood movies. Users will get to see content from Disney, NBCUniversal Peacock, Warner Bros, Discovery HBO and Paramount etc. on this platform. Apart from this, big events of ICC, IPL, WPL, Premium League, Wimbledon, Pro Kabaddi League and Indian Super League etc. will also be streamed on the platform. This means that users will be able to enjoy all types of content at one place.
What will be the price of the plan?
JioHotstar will have three types of plans. The cheapest will be the mobile plan, which can be streamed on only one device and will have a resolution of 720P. Its three-month subscription will be available for Rs 149 and one-year subscription for Rs 499. The second is the Super Plan. In this, it can be accessed on two devices simultaneously and users will get 1080P resolution. It will be available for Rs 299 for three months and Rs 899 for one year. The third and most expensive plan is the Premium Ad Free Plan. It will be accessed on 4 devices simultaneously and no advertisements will be seen in it. Users will be able to enjoy 4K streaming in it. For this, a three-month plan will be available for Rs 499 and a yearly plan for Rs 1,499.
