There has been a tremendous increase in employment through campus placement in IIT BHU. According to SAIL data, the total placements during the campus placement drive in 2018-19 were 837. It increased to 898 in 2019-20.
There has been an increase of 31 percent in jobs in IIT BHU in the last five years. According to the data released by the Training and Placement Cell of IIT, the influx of big companies into the institute and the opportunities for selecting the best talent from among the students have increased. Apart from those who get jobs, there are also thousands of students who move towards research, further studies or startups.
According to SAIL data, the total placements during the campus placement drive in 2018-19 were 837. It increased to 898 in 2019-20. This decreased to 780 in the 2020-21 session. The reason behind this was the global recession and other problems that came after Covid. However, after this this figure kept getting better.
In the session 21-22 and session 22-23 i.e. last year 1094 students joined jobs on the offers of various companies. In comparison, from the session of 2018-19 to the last session, appointments have increased by 31 percent.
Training and Placement Officer Prof. Sushant Srivastava says that in the last years the inclination of international companies has increased towards IIT BHU. Even though the offers were less during the Covid period,
the packages given by the companies to the students were as per high standards as always. Every year the number of offers in placement drives is in thousands. However, many times students, due to various reasons, instead of going into job, focus on research or startup.
