Lucknow. PGI Chandigarh and two prestigious AIIMS of the country, a vaccine is being tested these days to protect against Coronavirus. Although this vaccine is not new, it has been used for years to prevent leprosy. The special thing is that a scientist from Varanasi had advised the Government of India to use it only 1 month ago. The Government of India had sought suggestions from scientists across the country for a fight against Corona on mygov.in.

The discussion of Vaccine Mw, Mycobacterium W, which has been used for years in the prevention of leprosy (LEPROSY), has suddenly spread all over the world. It is also known as MIP ie MYCOBACTERIUM INDICUS PRANII (Myco bacterium indicus praenai).

You will be happy to know that the use of this vaccine was given to the Indian government by a scientist from Varanasi. On April 1, Dr. Praveen Kumar Singh advised the Central Government on his app that this vaccine can be used.

In his suggestion given to MYGOV.IN, Dr. Praveen said that this vaccine should be given to those who are engaged in the treatment of corona infections. This will increase their immunity and they will be able to avoid the infection of Kovid-19. Dr. Praveen had also told that due to this the immunity of the body increases so much that it is possible to eliminate the Kovid 19 virus.

This vaccine acts as an immunomodulator (as needed, developing the body’s immunity), which benefits both in terms of avoiding a disease and recovering after becoming ill. So let’s know from Dr. Praveen that the special things about this vaccine …

Q. What is MW? answer –

MW is a mico bacteria. It is one of 150 species of Myco bacteria. It has been used in a dead state. This vaccine was discovered about 25 years ago by Dr. GP Talwar, a scientist from Delhi itself. He discovered it from the mucus of a patient. When it was used on leprosy patients (LEPROSY), the results were shocking. When given to the MW vaccine with medicines given to leprosy patients, they started recovering in half the time. Since then, it has been used for leprosy patients. He was also given many big awards for this discovery.

Q. How does this vaccine work in the body?

answer –This vaccine greatly increases the immunity of the body. With this vaccine, both the first line and second line immunity of the body increases significantly. This causes B and T cells to build up very fast in the body. These two cells quickly gather to eliminate any new or old virus or bacteria.

Q. MW or MIP is a bacterium whereas Kovid-19 is a virus. Then how is it coping?

answer –Any virus or mycobacteria is intracellular. That is, they reach inside the cells. Kovid-19 also reaches into the cells of the human body and starts expanding itself rapidly. MW also gets inside the cells as being the mico bacteria. Although it does not increase itself due to being dead, but due to its protein, the body can create conditions inside the cell that stop the spread of Kovid-19. Gradually, Kovid-19 starts to run out.

Q. There is a lot of discussion about the BCG vaccine to be applied for TB. Is this also effective?

answer –This question also came to my mind that when BCG is being used in many countries of the world, then why are we not doing it. I think we have already got BCG vaccine. TB disease is very widespread in our country. India has the highest number of TB patients in the world. When we give vaccine or vaccine to protect against any disease, it suddenly increases the immunity in our body against that disease. Now the possibilities are that if BCG is vaccinated again, it is very possible that its side effects will be very high. There is no such possibility in MIP or MW. Not everyone feels this vaccine for Leprosy disease. In this case, the possibility of its side effects is negligible. Secondly, the MW vaccine is usually administered to leprosy patients. That is, it works fast during the disease, while the second vaccine is given before the disease. In this case, its effect is more than the other vaccine.

Q. Is it completely safe?

Answer – See there is no scale for its use in the case of Kovid-19. Currently, the best choice is to be made from the available medicines. This is the reason why BCG is being used somewhere and malaria medicine is being used. In such a situation, while it is known that the MW vaccine is completely safe, it is being used. We do not even know how effective future vaccine will be for Kovid-19. There are many diseases whose vaccines have not yet been made.

Who is Dr. Praveen Kumar Singh?

Dr. Praveen Kumar Singh is a microbiologist. He has done research on TB at King George Medical University in Lucknow and at the National Jalma Leprosy and other Mycobacterial Diseases Institute, Agra. Currently studying as an assistant professor at GLA University in Mathura. To save from Korana, the Indian government had sought suggestions from the countrymen on the MYGOV.IN app. On this app, he advised to use MW vaccine, which is undergoing trial on corona infected patients.
