The government has launched Digital Life Certificate Scheme for pensioners, which aims to solve the problem of physically visiting the bank by making the entire life certificate acquisition process digital. It was told that keeping in mind the digital life certificate through face authentication technology, now every citizen can submit the digital life certificate from home using an Android smartphone. At the same time, going to the bank branch is already a separate option.
What is Jeevan Pramaan?
The biometrics-enabled digital service for pensioners is called Jeevan Pramaan. Pensioners of Central, State or any other government agency are eligible to use this service.
Is it valid for lifetime?
Proof ID/Jeevan Pramaan is not valid for lifetime. The validity period of the certificate is as per the rules specified by the pension sanctioning authority. Once the validity period is over, a new life certificate i.e. a new proof ID will have to be made.
Who is eligible for Digital Life Certificate?
A pensioner whose Pension Sanctioning Authority (PSA) is included in Jeevan Pramaan is eligible for Jeevan Pramaan. At the same time, a pensioner who later starts working somewhere else is not eligible to make Jeevan Pramaan Patra i.e. Digital Life Certificate.
