12 digit Aadhaar card number is one of the most important document for citizens of India to avail government services and subsidies in today’s time. Linking Aadhaar with all of the important documents and accounts including bank account, LPG, PAN, PPF, EPF, etc. has been made mandatory by central government.

Now as per Government’s instructions, it is compulsory to link Aadhaar card with your mobile number as well. The Department of Telecommunication has already instructed all Indian Telecom Operators to verify all their mobile number by linking up to them with the Aadhaar.

Jio and Aadhaar

In order to take a new Jio sim card, it is compulsory to show the Aadhaar card. At the time of taking sim, if Aadhaar was given only as an identity or address proof and no biometric was done, then you will need to get your Jio SIM linked with your Aadhaar Number. On the other hand, if the process of biometric verification is done including finger print scans along with Aadhaar at the time of taking Jio SIM connection, you do not have to do this activity again.

Jio E-KYC

Those who have taken the connection without completing the Aadhaar e-KYC, the company is sending out SMS’es to complete the same to avoid disconnection of service. To complete mandated E-KYC process, you can visit nearest Jio Store or Retailer with your Aadhaar Card.

• Provide your mobile number and Aadhaar number to the executive at store
• The applicant has to provide a four-digit verification code on their mobile number.
• Give the One Time Password received to the store executive.
• Provide your biometric.
• After 24hrs you will receive a confirmation SMS on your Jio number.
