Prices will decrease under Ujjwala scheme

According to the information received from the government, under the Ujjwala scheme, the prices of LPG cylinders will be reduced by Rs 200. This decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi today.

7500 crore will be incurred

Under the cabinet Ujjwala scheme, an additional subsidy of ₹ 200 per cylinder has been approved. This decision taken by the central government will put an additional burden of about Rs 7500 crore on the government.

The rates have not changed since March. If we

talk about the prices of gas cylinders, then on the first date of August, the price of domestic cooking gas in Delhi was Rs.1103. At the same time, the price of gas cylinder in Mumbai is Rs 1102.50, Rs 1129 in Kolkata and Rs 1118.50 in Chennai. No change has been observed in the prices of domestic gas cylinders since March. At the same time, the prices of commercial gas cylinders have fluctuated many times.

12 cylinders are available in a year,

the central government had started the Ujjwala scheme in the year 2016 across the country. Under this scheme, beneficiaries can avail subsidy on a total of 12 cylinders in a year. Under the government scheme, families coming below the poverty line get the facility of cooking gas connection for free.
