With the commencement of metro rail operations on these two lines, the vehicular movement on the Western Express Highway is expected to reduce by about 21 percent. With this, congestion in local trains and BEST buses will be reduced.

In the first phase of Metro-2A and Metro-7, 10 metro trains will be run. On both these metro lines, passengers will have to pay Rs 10 (Mumbai Metro fare), Rs 20 for 3 to 12 km, Rs 30 for 12 to 18 km and Rs 40 for 18 to 24 km for a journey up to 3 km. The new corridor will be opened for common citizens from 6 am to 11 pm daily from April 3. Metro Line-2A will run from Dahisar to Dahanukarwadi. Metro-7 will run from Dahisar to Aarey Colony.

There will be 18 stations on this new line. Metro trains running on these lines will have six coaches. Metro will be operated here in ten minutes. In these, about 10 lakh passengers will travel daily. Metro Line-7 will be the Red Line, while Line 2A will be the Yellow Line.
