The Government of India had issued a guideline regarding the last rites of those who died from Corona. Under which it has been said to stay away from the dead body.
Lucknow:
Corona has changed a lot in the world, even in the last rites, there is a need to change. The tradition of wearing shroud to the body has been everywhere, but now it has come to change due to the risk of infection from those who died of corona. Muslim Ulema Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli has issued a fatwa that neither those who die from Corona be worn nor bathed. Rather, the plastic bag in which the hospital has handed over the body should be buried as a shroud. It has also said that no one can stop any Muslim from being buried in the cemetery. This fatwa came from the Ulema when a person who died from Corona in Lucknow was not allowed to be buried in the largest cemetery in the city.
Significantly, the Government of India had issued a guideline regarding the last rites of those who died from Corona. Under which it has been said to stay away from the dead body, as well as the bag in which the body will be packed and given, only arrangements will be made to show the face. But the body will not be allowed to be touched or wrapped in any way. People who put the body in the grave or burn it will need to wear PPE kit. Also, it has been said on behalf of the government that there is no risk of infection from the ashes after the last rites.
Many rumors have also been spread among people about Corona. In many places, there have been attempts to prevent people from burning or burial bodies. The corpse of the corona patient was stopped from burial in Aishbagh cemetery in Lucknow. In Malad, Mumbai, a patient had to be burnt when he was not allowed to be buried. There are many such examples across the country in which the rumor spread among people has faced trouble.
